जिल्ह्यात ६० जिल्हा परिषदेचे गट आणि पंचायत समितीचे १२० गण आहेत. नव्या निर्णयानुसार जिल्ह्यात जिल्हा परिषदेचे ६८ आणि पंचायत समितीसाठी १३६ मतदार गण होतील. याबाबतची प्राथमिक रचना तयार करण्यात येत आहे. कवठेमहांकाळ आणि कडेगाव तालुके वगळता उर्वरित आठ तालुक्यांत प्रत्येकी एक जिल्हा परिषदेचा गट आणि पंचायत समितीचे दोन गण वाढणार आहेत. मतदारसंघ वाढणार असल्याने आतापासून निवडणुकीची तयारी करणाऱ्यांची डोकेदुखी वाढणार आहे. सध्या असलेल्या गटातील गावांमध्ये बदल होईल. अनेक गावे मतदारसंघातून बाहेर जातील, तर काही अन्य गावांचा समावेश होणार आहे. जिल्हा परिषदेची निवडणूक फेब्रुवारीमध्ये होणार असल्याचे गृहीत धरून इच्छुकांनी शड्डू ठोकला आहे. अद्याप आरक्षण जाहीर झालेले नाही. सध्याच्या मतदारसंघ रचनेत मोठे बदल घडणार हे आता निश्चित आहे. निवडणूक वेळेत होण्याची शक्यता जिल्हा परिषद आणि पंचायत समित्यांची निवडणूक लांबणीवर टाकावी लागू नये, अशी राज्य निवडणूक आयोगाची भूमिका स्पष्ट आहे. त्यामुळे ओबीसी आरक्षणाचा मुद्दा लटकला तरी वेळेत निवडणुका घेतल्या जातील, असे चित्र दिसते. The ZP election for the post of president is set to be conducted on Thursday. BJP state unit president Chandrakant Patil has expressed confidence that the party would win the election this time around. Mahavikas Aaghadi comprising of Congress, NCP and Shiv Sena has also shown its confidence to capture power by defeating BJP in the election. Sangli MP Sanjay Patil is said to be upset over the selection of candidates for the post of president and vice-president. In reply, his four supporters were absent at the party meeting. But top functionaries have managed in convincing Patil about power-sharing. The saffron party is also trying to capitalise on the difference of local Sena and NCP functionaries. Some BJP officials are in touch with Anil Babar and Ait Ghorpade, who have supporters in ZP as well as long-time detractors of NCP’s Jayant Patil. Sources in the party said that Patil is expected to take a lead bringing together all anti-BJP forces but he is yet to take any initiative in that direction. Few independent members, who have an alliance with a local outfit, have not taken any decision yet. BJP in total has a strength of 28 members while NCP and Congress have 22 members.
