Who Are the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and OBCs?

In this article, we aim to explain the sub-communities of the Hindu caste system like Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and OBCs and discuss why an SC ST OBC certificate is necessary. The Hindu caste system is divided into multiple levels according to the origin and history of our ancestors beyond the usual ‘varna system’. The Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes differ from the typical varna system. These castes and tribes are collectively known as backward classes because of their long history of struggle for equal rights in Indian society. They have been socially and economically disadvantaged and continue to be so in some parts of the country. However, people from other classes are gradually doing away with these prejudices and learning to give them back their place in society. The practice of reservation by the government ensures that a certain percentage of people from these backward classes secure admissions and jobs in government sectors. So called 'Other Backward Classes' (OBCs)

Caste & the Tamil Nation So called 'Other Backward Classes' (OBCs) - The Real Perpetrators of Crime Against Dalits Emphasising reservation and neglecting atrocities will not do. This will help us evade the fact that often the worst caste atrocities are not the infliction of the Brahmins but of the new OBC classes. T.S. Eliot observed Humankind cannot bear too much reality. Our political establishments along with the elite intellectuals seem to be strong believers of this statement. They have behaved as if their constituents and audiences cannot bear the reality of atrocities and perpetrators of these atrocities on dalit. Many in the political establishment and in mainstream journalism actively twist the narrative so that the identity of the aggressors remained in obscurity. With the emergence of so called other backward classes (OBCs), or backward classes (BCs), or most backward classes (MBCs) as the power institutions, the atrocities against Dalits need reconsideration. The politicians and intellectuals have described the perpetrators as simply Caste Hindu or upper caste, thus mischievously, shielding the true identity of aggressors. To everyones surprise, if this Caste Hindu aggressor is analyzed, it turns out to be an OBC or BC or MBC, most often. Lets have a look at the Governments data: The Home Ministrys Annual report for the 1995 reported that caste-related incidents in Tamil Nadu, Bihar, and Maharashtra increased by 25 to 3...

Muslims are not a monolithic entity either that the entire religion needs reservations. Christians, Sikhs, Jains and Buddhists are lesser in number and don't have reservations based on religion. it is another matter that post 2019, the Muslim community as a whole has faced unparalleled discrimination, but that's a topic for another day. The only reservations for education should be SC, ST, Economically weaker sections with a tighter cutoff on income and assets. Reservations in public and pvt sector should only be for SC and S...
